Romanian Foreign Minister confirms Croatia's chances of joining NATO
Romanian Foreign Minister Adrian Cioroianu declared, after meeting his Croatioan homologue, Gordan Jandrokovici, that he expected Croatia to be invited to join the North Atlantic Alliance at the upcoming Bucharest summit in 2-4 April. "Romania supports the serious likelihood that Croatia will receive in Bucharest the invitation to become a member of the Alliance. I have the conviction that in mid-April, when I am due to once again meet the Croatian Foreign Affairs Minister, Croatia will be a country invited to join NATO," stated the Head of Romanian diplomacy. He has thus confirmed the information provided by officials of NATO member states, information according to which Croatia will surely be one of the countries invited to join the Alliance during the Bucharest Summit, considering Albania and the Republic of Macedonia also have the statute of candidate-countries. However their chances of becoming member-countries are lower.
