On the press-presentation of the 2007 Activity Report of the Romanian Foreign Ministry, the Minister Adrian Cioroianu presented Romania’s election as host for the NATO Summit as a success of the Romanian diplomacy. “If the everyday work, which is difficultly measurable, of our diplomacy, is less known on a national level, I can safely assert that 2007 brought many international confirmations of Romania’s statute” declared Cioroianu, who showed that the last year “MAE launched a very concentrated campaign, which proved successful, for Romania’s election as host for the NATO Summit in 2008”.  
“From the second part of the last year, MAE undertook a central role in the preparation of this entirely exceptional event”, added the head of diplomacy in Bucharest, reasserting that this is an important challenge which will have to confirm that Romania can have a say in the fields of activity that are important to us”.
