President Traian Basescu will visit the Brussels-based NATO headquarters on Thursday. On this occasion, the Romanian leader will meet with alliance Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer on issues related to the NATO summit to be held in Bucharest on April 2-4. The agenda of the Romanian president's official visit also includes a working lunch with officials representing the NATO states in the North Atlantic Council, an occasion for him to unveil the phase in the preparations made by Bucharest for the successful conduct of the summit and he will also present the Romanian outlook of the topics to be included in the agenda of debates. Traian Basescu will attend a conference held by the „German Marshall Fund of the United States”, to which he will deliver an address, to be followed by talks on the main topics currently being debated by NATO.
