The ambitious political agenda of the NATO summit in Romania was the main topic approached during the discussions between Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, NATO Secretary General, and the Romanian authorities in Bucharest. NATO Secretary General met Traian Basescu, the President of Romania, Calin Popescu – Tariceanu, the Romanian Prime-minister, Adrian Cioroianu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Corneliu Dobritoiu, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Defense. This meeting was another opportunity for the Romanian authorities to reinforce that NATO Bucharest Summit shall represent progresses in implementing the projects launched at NATO Riga Summit, 2006, concerning, especially, NATO enlargement process, partnership policies, relations with Western Balkan states and with the Black Sea states, anti – missile defense, NATO operations, energy security. |
