George W. Bush expressed his regret that NATO could not reach a consensus regarding Macedonia and underlined that the problem of the name should be solved as soon as possible. “NATO must remain open to other countries that want and are looking for freedom; these ones should get closer to the countries already members of NATO”, Bush declared. “Today we invite new members and we ensure you that the extension continues”, Bush stressed. “The Alliance will always accept those that are willing to make the necessary sacrifice to join us”, the American leader explained.
