President Nicolas Sarkozy confirmed at NATO Summit in Bucharest on Thursday that France will send a battalion of troops to the east of Afghanistan (more than 800 soldiers).
"I have decided to reinforce the French military presence with one battalion deployed in the east region," Sarkozy said, according to the speech presented in front of NATO partners. Today, France is present in Afghanistan with 1.700 soldiers.
