European Commission President Jose Manuel Durao Barosso will arrive in Bucharest on Thursday, April 3, to attend a working lunch of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), a body that joins - apart from the 26 NATO member countries - the 23 NATO partner states in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Western Balkans.
US President George W. Bush too will be present at the EAPC meeting, after which he and the President of the European Commission will attend a round of talks dedicated to Afghanistan, joining NATO leaders, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and other partners involved in Afghanistan, that include the European Union, the World Bank and all the countries that contributed troops to the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF), that acts under NATO command.
