Romania is in favour of a decision regarding the development of a NATO antimissile shield complementary and integrated with the one of the United States of America, stated on Wednesday President Traian Basescu, before the diplomatic body accredited in Bucharest. “By applying the principle of security indivisibility among NATO allies, we are in favour of a decision regarding the development of a NATO antimissile shield complementary and integrated with the one of the USA.”, says the President.
The North-Atlantic Alliance is running experts discussions regarding the creation of an antimissile shield to protect the south-eastern side of the Alliance, as well; a decision in that respect can be adopted during the Bucharest Summit, stated the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Teodor Melescanu, at the end of last year.
