Romania will support the accession of Bosnia-Herzegovina to the European and Euro-Atlantic organisations without any reserve, stated President Traian Basescu, on Thursday, at the end of the discussions with the head of the collective presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mr. Haris Silajdzic. The head of the Romanian state emphasised that the politicians of Bosnia-Herzegovina should take advantage of the opportunities opening to this country, namely the intensified dialogue with NATO to be acquired at the Bucharest Summit and the invitation to sign the EU association agreement in April.
“It is a highly important moment for Bosnia-Herzegovina. A window is opening to NATO, and another to the EU. Both organisations are extremely interested in finding solutions so that the Western Balkans become an area of security and economic development. It is crucial for Bosnia-Herzegovina, for the politicians here to take advantage of this opportunity that will not last for ever. This means meeting all the necessary criteria for Bosnia-Herzegovina to be granted the intensified dialogue with the North Atlantic Alliance at the NATO Summit in Bucharest and to sign the EU association agreement in April”, stated President Traian Băsescu.
